At Von Der Haus Gill Kennel, we don't sell
dogs that we wouldn't want for ourselves !!! At Von Der Haus Gill Kennel, our specialty is the working
canine. We are very involved with K-9's in Law Enforcement. We feel that we
know where to look, what to look for, and what to test when we are searching
for dogs for Law Enforcement or Personal Protection use. We are proud of our
reputation, enough to show you the dogs we have sold and to whom (be sure to
check out the other sold pages also). We do NOT
buy from " dog brokers." We travel to Europe and buy from individuals
we know, or we buy from recommended and reputable trainers and Kennels. We will
also handle all of the paperwork for you. All you need to do is relax and enjoy
your new partner or companion.
In November 2000, Al was called to work a
Presidential Rally in Toledo Ohio by the Secret Service with K-9 Charley. Al
and Charley did bomb sweeps in all locations prior to President Bush arriving
and spent the weekend in service of the President. Al and Ohio Gov Taft at the State House during the 1 year
anniversary of 09-11-01. Al and Charley were in New York to assist in the days
after. Al and Charley received a certificate of appreciation from the State of
Ohio for their help.

Al
is a Retired Deputy with the Allen
County Ohio Sheriff's Office and formerly the Wapakoneta
Police Department. He has been an active K-9 Handler for over 17 years.
He has trained and handled 5 dogs for himself for police work, and been training dogs for law enforcement and private
clients for 25 years.
Al is a member of OLEKA (Ohio Law Enforcement
Canine Association) and was appointed Director of Explosives Training and
Accreditation of OLEKA. Al is a former member and Master Trainer with other national K-9 organizations, of
Police Utility, Police Narcotics and Explosives
Detection. He has since dedicated his assistance to the two listed organizations. Al is also a Master Trainer of
Patrol, Narcotics, Explosives, and Cadaver with National Assoc. of
Professional Police Canine Handlers as well as Chairman of the Accreditation Board.
He is also a MASTER TRAINER of Patrol/ Narcotics/ Explosives and School Resource with American Police Canine Association
Von Der Haus Gill Kennel is owned and operated by Al, Matt and Susan Gill and their
two children Melissa and Matt in Wapakoneta, OH. We are a family oriented Kennel,
with all of the dogs exposed to our active family life style.
Our Kennel is operated on our true belief, that quality is more important
than quantity.
